"Own Logo"Own, a skin health company has developed a new application that can give users insight to help them determine the state of their skin. Users take a picture of themselves and the application will help them determine the real condition of their skin. This high tech app, which can be downloaded from iTunes, Google Play and the Own website will analyze a photograph of the user to pinpoint fine lines, and deeper wrinkles. After taking a picture of himself or herself with a camera phone or another digital device that takes pictures, the application works within a few minutes, and just as quickly it analyzes the photograph and helps the user understand how he or she could live a healthier life. The app, therefore, can help users reduce the signs of aging.

According to a news release on the topic, the application can tell the user the number wrinkles, deep wrinkles and fine lines, that appear on the face. The application can indicate the percentage of the face that is covered with hyperpigmentation, and it does all of this with 95 percent accuracy from a mere photograph. The applications goes several steps further. It compares users skin analysis with other people in the same age group, and it helps users understand how they can make themselves look younger by living healthier. They can see before and after photographs of themselves. The comparison photographs show how they look now, and how they could look if they follow the Own regime, including use of the products in the Own line. Users can also see how they are improving the condition of their skin over time. They are advised to take their picture every month and track their results, the press release said. Stephen Matt, the chief marketing officer at Own was quoted as saying that the application can help people “manage their own skin’s health.”

For the best results, people are advised to take photographs in a well-lit room. They should not wear any makeup at all, and answer all of the questions that are asked in the application. After all of the requested information is submitted through the application, the results are presented to the user in just a few minutes.

According to the release, Own products cost between $12 and $24.99 and they are designed to help people who use them look better for a longer period of time. The products are available at Duane Reade stores and at Whole Foods Market in Northern California.
